The NAA Secretariat is an implementing body under the NAA. It is led by a Secretary General with three Deputy Secretary Generals as assistants.
The NAA Secretariat has four departments as a technical support body:
1. The Department of Finance and Administration
2. The Department of Prevention, Care, and Support
3. The Department of Communication and Resource Mobilization and
4. The Department of Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Research.
The NAA Secretariat has a core role and responsibility to implement the national policy and strategy adopted by the NAA leaders and has specific roles and responsibilities as the following:
1. Lead, manage, and coordinate the overall management of the NAA Secretariat
2. Coordinate the organization of the annual NAA congress
3. Coordinate the organization of the policy board meeting
4. Coordinate the organization of the technical board meeting
5. Coordinate the preparation of national policy and guideline
6. Coordinate the preparation of the national strategic plan, operational plan, and work plan
7. Coordinate the preparation of the national resource costing and mobilization
8. Coordinate the national multi-sectoral and comprehensive response to HIV and AIDS
9. Coordinate the control of HIV and AIDS epidemic
10. Coordinate the national monitoring, evaluation, and research of HIV and AIDS and
11. Coordinate the implementation of other tasks as required by the NAA
